BRIDAL SESSION AT THE LACE HOUSE AT ARSENAL HILL

The Lace House has been a backdrop to many weddings and sessions for the last 23 years. Weddings and events kicked off with the reopening in 2001, followed by opening the gardens to the public in 2003. You step through the gates and it’s like you are transported to somewhere else. There’s really nowhere like it in Columbia. It’s gorgeous greenery, secret garden vibes, and pops of florals truly make for beautiful backdrops.

For many photographers, it’s the first choice when it comes to locations for session, especially bridal sessions. So when Whitney mentioned doing her bridal session there, it was a no brainer.

Between the lush greenery, beautiful gates, and historic home this location is sure to make everyone happy. Whitney looked stunning!

Whitney didn’t want to stop there for bridals, though. She wanted to spice things up a little bit and throw tradition out the door. Whitney wanted her fiancé to join her in his wedding attire so they could have portraits of them together. If these two beautiful souls look familiar, then maybe it’s from the blog about their engagement session.

This was my first time doing a session like this before the wedding, but I fell in love with the idea. Why? I’ll tell you… we didn’t have to spend a ton of time on wedding day on portraits. Moe and Whitney wanted to celebrate with their friends and family. We still snapped some images of them after their ceremony, but we didn’t have to spend the same amount of time because we had already capture these incredible images.

This idea won’t be for everyone, and that’s ok!! Also, I should note that I have been talking about the Lace House in present tense, but it is temporarily closed for revitalizing! So today, let’s live vicariously through these images!

The beauty of these portraits lies not just in the aesthetic appeal of the location but in the genuine connection between the couple. Each photograph becomes a chapter in the story of their love, a narrative that unfolds against the grandeur of the chosen setting. The sweeping landscapes, the interplay of light and shadow, and the intimacy of the couple's expressions come together to create a visual masterpiece that transcends the ordinary.

These portraits are not just photographs; they are windows into the souls of the bride and groom, capturing the essence of their love story. With each pose, each stolen kiss, the images become a testament to the emotions shared in that moment—a celebration of the journey that brought them here and the promise of a future filled with more love and adventure.
